Are TV series part of your life? Can't you go without watching at least half a dozen of them at once? If so, this post was made just for you! The most popular programs will be presented and discussed here in detail.

Although much of the content was produced and released by Netflix, the world's most famous streaming platform is not the only option: Amazon Prime Video, for example, has incredible content – and at a much more affordable price, too.

Truth be told, competition is the lifeblood of business: thanks to it, companies compete for the best content and prices. Today, Netflix is feeling the effects of this competition among so many other streaming services – and this is wonderful for the end consumer, who seeks an increasingly immersive and personalized experience in films and series.

Stranger Things is a thriller and science fiction series set in the 1980s, in the fictional city of Hawkins, Indiana. A regional laboratory conducted experiments directly linked to the paranormal, even using human guinea pigs to achieve its goals.

Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, disappears due to these experiments and, because of this, his friends come to his aid. His mother, Joyce Byers (played by Winona Ryder) also does everything to find her son.

It turns out that a very dangerous creature ends up being released on the planet, and its objective is to locate and destroy everything in its path. In addition to finding Will Byers, everyone will have to take care of each other to avoid becoming victims of Demogorgon.

The level of performance of the young professionals is simply impressive: because of this, the degree of immersion in the series is simply unique. In addition, people born in that decade will certainly identify with the soundtrack, fashion and colors present.

In total, Stranger Things has 4 seasons: it's unlikely that you won't watch most of it in one go!

The Boys (Amazon Prime Video)

Tired of watching conventional superhero series? The Boys goes exactly against common sense: instead of being well-intentioned individuals, all the powerful characters are extremely self-centered, narcissistic and, in some cases, Machiavellian, leaving a real trail of blood wherever they go.

Based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the series features corrupt superheroes who need to be constantly monitored and controlled by Vought, a company specializing in the subject. In the very first episode, the viewer is confronted with a brutal murder. This will dictate, in a very competent and natural way, the content of the first season.

Some characters are clearly a provocation to others already established in the industry: Homelander, for example, seems to be directly inspired by Captain America, but without the patriotic and well-intentioned values.

Considering the low price of the Amazon Prime subscription, which gives you access to the series, not watching The Boys is a big mistake! It is an incredibly well-written and thought-out production that has been the talk of the town in recent years.

Ozark (Netflix)

This series has an incredibly well-constructed plot, as well as remarkable characters. Marty Bird, played by actor Jason Bateman, is a corrupt financial advisor who moves to a city in Missouri to set up a US$1.5 billion money laundering scheme.

But the fraudulent scheme, which was supposed to be done for the Mexican cartel, ends up going wrong and his entire family ends up involved in the scam. Big bosses of organized crime enter the game to punish the Bird family – and they will stop at nothing to get what they want.

This is one of Netflix's most interesting and well-executed productions to date: the story is unmissable and should definitely be on your list! The series is currently in its fourth season.

The Umbrella Academy (Netflix)

In this fun series, siblings with special powers reunite after their father's death. They discover several family secrets – as well as a threat that plagues the entire planet. The series was nominated for an Emmy and was inspired by the comics by Gerard Way.

Elliot Page (then Ellen Page) and Mary J are two of the biggest standouts in The Umbrella Academy. In the first season, 43 women give birth at the same time, but they don't show any signs of pregnancy until the day before. But seven of these children are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who trains them as superheroes.

The series begins in 1989 and explains the details of the plot in a very fun and engaging way.

Peaky Blinders (Netflix)

Created by Steven Knight (who also developed the Spartacus series), Peaky Blinders is set in post-war England, in the city of Birmingham. It tells the story of gangster Thomas Shelby and his entire family, members of the Small Heath Rifles.

Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) is the protagonist and one of the most brilliant actors of recent times. He tries to convey a controlled and calculating atmosphere in front of his family and accomplices. However, the internal conflict experienced by the criminal adds an unparalleled layer of humanity to the ruthless tyrant.

The first season begins in 1919, just after the end of World War I. Thomas lost three brothers in the conflict and, as soon as he returned to his hometown, he took control of the Peaky Blinders. Throughout the plot, the protagonist infiltrates all layers of society – even politics, in order to create a narco-state.

The series has won numerous awards, such as the National Television Award: Drama (2019, 2020), the BAFTA Award for Cinema (2014) and the British Academy Television Award (2018). It is a very dense production, with a very serious and violent story: it is not suitable for more sensitive minds.
